The third time was not a charm.
Lyle Lovette is one of my all time favorites. The man is talented. His songs are poetry. This was our third time seeing Mr. Lovette in Symphony Hall. The sound system was not up to standards. We could hear him but we could not hear the words. He spent more time chatting with the crowd than he did singing. This concert was at the end of his tour. It seemed that he was tired. His voice wasn’t as strong as in years past. Maybe it was an off night. A good number of people left before the concert was over. It was a Thursday night. It was after 11:00. Maybe people needed to get home and get to bed since it was a week night. I love Mr. Lovette’s music. His performance was not up to standards.
